The special functions of the liver are involved in removing toxins from the body, keeping the digestive system active, controlling cholesterol and sugar, synthesizing proteins and increasing the body’s energy which is called immunity.

According to the World Health Organization, every fifth Indian is troubled by some or the other problem of liver. In Ayurveda medicine, the reason for the unhealthy liver is considered to be poor digestion. Disturbances in the digestive system occur when the lifestyle is irregular, increased weight, uncontrolled eating habits and physical inactivity.
However, in some cases, the cause of liver infection can also be genetic. Excessive consumption of alcohol and side effects of drugs also spoils the health of the liver. In the changed lifestyle, accumulation of fat and swelling in the liver has become common. But ignoring such initial problems only causes serious problems in future.
If ayurvedic diet and lifestyle are adopted, then the liver can be saved from being vulnerable to any disease or infection.
1. Make digestible food-
Our diet plays a major role in the malfunction of the digestive system, fat starts accumulating in the body due to fast food, junk food and more greasy and rich food. Its first effect falls on the liver and inflammation occurs in the intestines. Due to which gradually it leads to the problem of jaundice, which is an initial infection of the liver. Therefore, such food should be consumed in limited quantity. Giving priority to digestible and nutritious food in the diet will be very helpful in keeping the liver healthy.
2. Consume seasonal fruits and vegetables-
Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins, fiber and other nutrients. It strengthens the immunity of the body. Consumption of seasonal fruits and vegetables like papaya, gooseberry, grapes, spinach, carrot, lemon, banana etc. keeps the digestive system healthy. And the toxic elements come out from the body.
3.Keep weight under control-
The increase in our body weight can be the reason for many diseases. Physical inactivity and excessive consumption of oily food is the main reason for weight gain, increased weight or obesity causes many diseases including fatty liver as well as heart diseases, diabetes, blood pressure, osteoporosis, so it is important to control weight. According to Ayurveda, keep proper discipline in the diet and moderation according to the season. Due to which weight will be under control and will help you to avoid many diseases.
4. Do regular exercise-
Exercise plays an important role in keeping every part of our body healthy. Just as food is necessary for the body and the body gets the necessary elements from food, for this food should be properly digested. People are not physically active due to busy work, laziness or irregular routine which is the root of all physical problems not only to the digestive system. To avoid this, it is necessary to walk or exercise in the morning. Exercise burns calories, there is no accumulation of fat in the body, excess fat affects every part of the body.
5. Keep an eye on these symptoms-
Abdominal distention, slight pain in stomach, feeling of weakness, yellowish color of eyes and nails, frequent urination, yellowing, weight loss, loss of appetite, intermittent feeling of vomiting. If you see such symptoms, then you should be alert, it is a symptom of liver failure.
6. To keep the liver healthy, consume these things-
1. Consume curd and whey, due to this the digestive system will be active, due to which the liver will remain healthy.
2. Take special care of the cleanliness of the water, that is, the water you drink should be clean.
3. Mixing one spoon of honey in lukewarm water and drinking it regularly, it provides energy to our body as well as keeps the digestive system healthy. Due to which we are saved from liver problems.
4. Take regular spinach juice or vegetable. It is very beneficial in liver cirrhosis. By consuming them, the chances of getting liver-related problems are greatly reduced.
5. Keep drinking plenty of water, due to which the toxins keep coming out of our body, due to which not only the liver but all parts of the body remain healthy. Along with this, electrolyte balance is maintained in the body and helps us to stay healthy.
